Alienation

There are many types of alienation and, ironically, it would seem that the more people there are and the bigger the population density, individuals become more lonely and alienated on various levels.
Living in a high-pace workplace can cause economic alienation, where the workers become distant from their produce and tasks. Work becomes a dull routine, a means of surviving and limits the employees who cannot find any pleasure or fulfillment in it. When people move or are forced to move to a different country or a place of a different culture than their own they can experience cultural alienation – they find it difficult to interact with other people, they can feel misunderstood and as being the other, different one.
Whatever the type of alienation, it is the process of separating oneself from one’s social, cultural or professional surroundings, feeling controlled and lost. I believe that the purpose of creating media texts is to overcome alienations and an attempt understand the reasons of it, thus finding solutions and also spreading awareness among the media recipients.
