Is There Objective Truth

Recently I had a discussion with a friend. I do not exactly remember how we arrived at the topic, but we were talking about truth and whether there is an objective one.We considered the example of seeing things. We had different opinions on the matter, but now that I come to think of it, I'd have to say that we both had some valid points.

My friend said:
Everybody perceives the world in their own, specific way, so their perception is subjective. Thus objects are seen in many different ways. Taking this into account, I say there is no objective truth, for no one can see it, and what is more, things we can see may exist only in our minds...

I said:
I agree, but only to some extent. I know that everybody perceives the world in a different way, but it does not mean that there is no objective truth. Objects have to have their 'real' form despite the fact that nobody can see it. The fact that we don't see it, does not mean that it does not exist.

Now I come to the conclusion that both of us may be a little right. Everything we see might be a manipulation of our senses, maybe it does not exist after all? Maybe we create everything and thus there cannot be an objective truth? Or better still, maybe there is a world completely different from the one we live in, but which we are never going to see...?

(But honestly, it think that more or less, we see the same stuff, only with a different attitude and maybe slightly different hues of color...)
